The print is sold mounted and backed in Antique White acid free mount board.
This linocut was printed from four large blocks, in sombre but warm colours: cream, yellow ochre, red and blue. The design is based on drawings of my little flock of garden hens and the ark that was their home. The background is imagined but makes reference to my garden and to clearings nearby in the Forest of Dean. An ominous autumn moon is rising, casting long shadows across the hillside. Late apples and leaves fall from the tree. The hens are apprehensive, ready to take cover for the night.
